Federal judges and justices should be nominated on the basis of these four criteria:

experience on lower courts of applying the Constitution and other laws faithfully and fairly
diligence; writing well-researched, objective, and clear opinions
assessment of non-partisan panel that nominee has proven educational and practical qualifications
understanding the historic role the judiciary plays under our constitutional system of checks and balances
